MOVEMENT : Wonderful quality gilded cylinder fusee movement, with blued screws, diamond endstone, polished steel balance wheel and steel escape wheel. Signed (Justin Vulliamy, LONDON) and numbered using Vulliamy’s rather mysterious date code (cna).
All in excellent condition and running well. There are 2 steel screws on the edge of the top plate which seem to serve no purpose. These are possibly filling the holes for the retaining pins for a missing dust.
DIAL : White enamel dial, with damage around the centre aperture (chips) and a series of hairlines radiating from the edge at 2.
Nice matching gold hands.
CASE : Gold hallmarks for London, 1766 with rubbed maker’s mark ?M. Good condition throughout, with just some very light scratches to the back. The case snaps shut nicely and the crystal is fine.
The case (including crystal)weighs 43 gms.
