An early 19thc. verge watch, with a nicely painted polychrome dial showing a fishing scene.

MOVEMENT : This is a gilt verge movement, with an engraved and pierced balance cock, with endstone to the centre. Four round pillars, Bosley type regulator and blued steel screws.

There are some scratches around the pillar tops but generally all in good condition and running well.

Signed Langford, London and numbered 17526.

DIAL : A polychrome enamel dial, with a fishing scene around the chapter ring.

Gilt hands.

In good condition except for a few light scratches, a flake at the centre hole, a small chip on the edge at 3 and a short crack across the edge at 7. No repairs.

INNER CASE : Silver, with hallmarks for London 1815 and markers mark WJ.

In good condition. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is good, with just one tiny chip on the edge at 10.

OUTER CASE : Silver, with matching hallmarks and maker’s mark to the inner.

The silver is in good condition, with just a few small dents. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut correctly. The catch button is dented, though still functions.
