A particularly large, verge escapement watch, in gilt pair cases, with calendar subsidiary dial and centre seconds.
MOVEMENT : A good quality gilt fusee movement, with verge escapement, engraved and pierced balance cock, blued screws, four round baluster pillars, and large silver regulator disk.
The steel lever under the dial at 2, allows the movement to be stopped and restarted.
Signed Green, London and numbered 565.
Running well and in excellent condition. Both stop/start mechanism and calendar are complete and functioning correctly.
DIAL : A wonderful white enamel dial, with time and calendar subsidiaries. Outer chapter showing seconds in 1/5 second divisions.
In fine condition, with just some very light scratches.
Matching gold skeleton hour/minute hands and gold calendar.
INNER CASE : Gilt, with maker’s marks IW?.
In good condition, with a little wear to the gilding on the stem and bow, and a little around the band. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The crystal is also good, with just a couple of light scratches. The bow and stem are original.
OUTER CASE : A gilt pair case, with no visible maker’s marks.
In very good condition. The gilding is still present with just wear to the catch button and centre of the back. The hinge, catch button and catch are fine and the case snaps shut correctly.
