A large silver Swiss watch, with wonderfully painted and very complicated astrological dial.

MOVEMENT : A gilt movement with verge escapement.

Signed Courvoisier Freres.

The movement is in excellent condition, and is running well.

DIAL : Beautifully painted enamel dial, with glazed aperture showing the jewelled balance.

The subsidiary signed dial at 6 shows normal hours and minutes.
The subsidiary dial at 9 shows days of the week, astrological Zodiac signs of the days and date.
The outer chapter, with central pointer, shows month (with length of month in days) and Zodiac sign on the month.

Fine condition throughout with just some damage around the winding aperture.

All of the functions work correctly, with the two hands on the daily dial moving forward independently every 24 hours, and the monthly marker moving forward every 31 days.

Fine rose gold hands.

CASE : Silver, the inside of the back is stamped with serial numbers 276 and 19515. Also case maker’s mark ICDB.

The silver is in good condition, with no damage except for a couple of dents to the back edge at 5, and a small bump on the back at 10. The crystal is fine.

The hinge is good and the back cover closes. The stem and bow are fine and are original.

Courvoisier Freres were listed in Le Locle, Switzerland between 1801 and 1804.

The case maker is Jean Charles DuBois, who was active between 1802 and 1804.
