A small French verge (could be Swiss) in a gold case, with interesting enamel decoration.
MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance bridge, silvered regulator disk and four round pillars. Unsigned.
In good condition and running well.
DIAL : A good white enamel dial, in very good condition except for some damage around the right hand edge of the winding aperture.
Crystal set white metal hands. Just one crystal missing from the minute hand.
CASE : An interesting and attractive gold case, with enamel decoration to the back and inside, and a crystal set bezel. The back enamel plaque shows an 18thc. gentleman, and the inside shows a family crest.
No maker’s or gold marks but the case tests as high carat gold (about 15 ct.).
The gold is in good condition, with the engraving still crisp. The hinges, crystal set catch button and catch are all complete and the bezel snaps shut. The crystal set bezel is complete with no crystals missing.
The enamel plaque on the back has a chip on the edge at 2, and the enamel on the inside a small bump to the upper horse figure. The high dome crystal is good.
