A mid 19th century English verge watch, in silver half hunter pair cases.

MOVEMENT : Gilt fusee movement, with verge escapement, engraved and pierced balance cock, four round pillars, and Bosley type regulator

Running well, and in quite good condition, with a few scratches around the pillar tops and dial false plate.

Unsigned but numbered (8360).

DIAL : A white half hunter enamel dial, in average condition. No repairs but three hairlines radiating from the centre, and a chip/flake near the centre at 10.

Gilt hands.

INNER CASE : Silver, with hallmarks for London, 1842, maker’s mark WC.
There is an engraving on the back “John Brayne Ridge”.

In good condition. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The small half hunter glass is fine. The bow and stem are original..

OUTER CASE : Silver pair case. Hallmarks matching the inner.

In very good condition. The hinge and catch are complete and the case snaps shut.
