A late 18th century, Paris, miniature verge in a fine gold and enamel case. Excellent condition.
MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance bridge, silver regulator disk and four round pillars. Signed ‘Dupon, A Paris’ ands numbered ‘2848’.
In exceptionally good condition and running well.
DIAL : White enamel dial.
In almost perfect condition, with just a tiny flake on the edge at 6.
Fine matching ornate gold hands.
CASE : A wonderful rose and yellow gold case, with a small polychrome enamel portrait panel to the back, surrounded by blue guilloche enamel highlights. No French gold marks but maker’s mark DL above an anchor. The case is also stamped with the movement number ‘2848. The case tests as high carat gold.
The hinges and movement catch are both fine and the front cover closes nicely. The gold is in good condition with just a little wear to the catch button. The enamel is also in very good condition.
