A mid 18thc., gilt pair cased Swiss verge, with a particularly nice silver embellished movement.

MOVEMENT : Gilded movement with verge escapement, the silver balance bridge finely engraved and pierced with foliage. Large silver regulator disk , four square baluster pillars and a silver rim to the top plate.

Signed (Bordier a Geneve) and numbered (17857).

The movement is in good condition and is running well.

DIAL : A fine white signed enamel dial.

In good condition, with one small scratch at the centre, a few very small nibbles around the edge, and a short hairline at 6:30.

Fine matching gold coloured hands.

INNER CASE : Gilt brass, with movement serial number stamped inside.

Quite good condition, though much of the gilding worn off, the stem has been reattached and there is a little wear at the catch. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut. The high dome crystal is good.

OUTER CASE : A gilt pair case with engraving to the rims and back.

In reasonable condition. The catch, catch button and hinge are all fine and the bezel snaps shut. A lot of wear to the engraving, especially on the back where it had worn away.
