Cylinder escapement, quarter repeating

Sold

This is a fine, large and impressive quarter repeating watch, with cylinder escapement, in a rose gold case, with silver guilloche dial, and a particularly fine quality movement.

MOVEMENT : A gilt movement with cylinder escapement, and quarter repeating with two polished steel hammers striking two steel gongs. The cylinder escapement features a Breguet type parachute shock protection, a temperature compensation curb and gold balance wheel.

The quarter repeating function is activated by pushing down the stem, striking once for each hour and then twice for each quarter.

The movement is in excellent condition, and is running well and repeating correctly.

DIAL : Very attractive silver guilloche dial with subsidiary seconds.

In good condition with just a few very light marks and scratches.
Blued steel Breguet style hands

CASE : The rose gold case has engine turning to the band. The inner gilt cuvette is unsigned.

The inner gold back of the case is stamped with the case number and gold marks.
The slide on the band at 1 allows the repeat to be disabled.

The case is in very good condition, with virtually no wear to the engine turning on the band and just a few light marks on the back

All hinges are fine and the bezel, back cover and cuvette all close correctly. The crystal is perfect

This watch is probably French, but could also be from Switzerland.
