A London verge pocket watch, in gold repousse pair cases.
MOVEMENT : Gilded verge escapement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Four square pillars, silver regulator disk and blued screws.
Signed (Wm. Howard, London) and numbered (8342). .
The movement is in good original condition, with some scratches around the pillar tops but otherwise ok. It is running well.
DIAL : The white enamel dial is in good condition, with just a few light scratches, and a very light hairline running from the centre towards the edge at 10. One of the dial feet from the dial false plate is missing, but the other two are fine and the dial plate is held firmly.
Good gold beetle and poker hands (a repair to the base of the minute).
INNER CASE : 22ct gold, hallmarked for London, 1774, maker’s mark RP.
In reasonable condition. There is slight compression around the band, and a few light bruises to the back. The stem has been reattached, the decorative top to the stem has worn, and the bow has repairs.
The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The crystal is fine.

In good condition with just a little wear to the high points of the repousse work. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut firmly. The catch button is worn, showing the red filler.
