London silver pair cased verge with original polychrome dial.
MOVEMENT : Gilded verge fusee movement, with large engraved and pierced balance cock. Four square pillars. Signed and numbered (31439). A few scratches around the pillar tops, but generally in good condition. Running well.
DIAL : White enamel, with a charming polychrome hunting scene. In good condition, with just one hairline from the centre to 8, and some small scratches. No repairs.
Good steel 18th century beetle and poker hands.
INNER CASE : Silver, hallmarked for London, 1780. Maker’s mark TR.
Good condition, with some compression around the band. The stem has been reattached. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.
The hinge is fine and the case closes properly.
OUTER CASE : Silver, hallmarked as the inner. In reasonable condition, with a couple of light bruises to the back, some wear to the hinge edge, and a short split on the edge of the back at 4. The hinge, catch button and catch are ok and the case closes though with a slight gap at the stem.
