A good gold Paris verge watch, with particularly fine enamel portrait to the back.

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge movement, signed (Gudin A Paris) with pierced and engraved balance bridge, and large silver regulator disk. Four round pillars.

The movement is in excellent condition, and is running well.

DIAL : White enamel dial In perfect condition except for the damage around the winding aperture.
Fine original 18th century pierced gold hands.

CASE : Rose gold with some yellow gold decoration to the bezel and back. Maker’s mark 3FM. Fine enamel portrait with green guilloche enamel surround.

The gold of the case is in very good condition, with just a little wear to the edge of the catch button. The hinges and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The high dome crystal is fine.

The beautiful enamel plaque, and enamel surround, are in perfect condition.

Jacque Jerome Gudin is listed in Paris from 1750 and died in 1789.

PROVENANCE : This watch was formerly in the collection of Georges Baptiste, antique dealer and former President of BRAFA (Brussels Art Fair).
