A good quality, early 19th century London verge, in very nice overall condition.

MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock, blued screws and diamond endstone. Signed (E. COLLINGRIDGE, LONDON) and numbered (315). Four round pillars. In good condition, with just a couple of scratches on the top plate and running well.

DIAL : Cream enamel dial in excellent condition, with just two tiny scratches on the edge at 4. Beautiful matching gold heart shaped hands.

INNER CASE : Silver hallmarks for London, 1804, maker’s mark IG. In excellent condition throughout.

The high dome bull’s eye crystal has just a few light scratches. The hinge is fine and the bezel closes well.

OUTER CASE : Silver pair case with matching hallmarks to the inner.

Again in excellent condition. The hinge and catch are fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly.

Edmund Collingridge of London was apprenticed in 1792 and in the Clockmakers’ Company from 1800 until 1824.
