Verge, quarter repeating movement

Sold

This is a nice quality, large, silver repeating French pocket watch, with a verge movement.

MOVEMENT : Unsigned gilded verge movement with engraved and pierced balance cock. The hour/quarter repeating function is activated by pushing down the stem. The repeater strikes two gongs, with one chime for the hours and two for the quarters. The movement is in very good original condition and both watch and repeating functions are working well.

DIAL : White enamel. Excellent condition with just a few tiny chips right on the edge at 3. Blued steel hands.

CASE : Silver, with French hallmarks on the stem and back cover. Engine turned back and band. The inside back is stamped with serial numbers (7027 & 85 3389) and a maker’s mark D?C. A slide on the case band, near the stem, disables or enables the repeat.

All in very good condition.
