MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with finely engraved and pierced balance bridge, jewelled endstone. Four square pillars. Signed ‘Truitte Mournier & Comp.. All in very good original condition and running well.
DIAL : Excellent white enamel in perfect condition. Fancy gilt hands.
INNER CASE : Gold, with maker’s mark IO (rubbed). In good condition though the pendant has been reattached, leaving a small spilt behind the stem, and there is a bruise to one side near the winding aperture. The bow and pendant appear to be original. A little compression around the band. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. Good high dome crystal with no damage.
OUTER CASE : Gold repousse pair case. The catch and hinge are good and the case snaps shut. There is very little wear to the high points of the repousse work (just one tiny pin holew) and figures are still very well defined. There is an old repair to the inside of the bezel near the hinge, where the bezel has been strengthened
Truitte Mourier & Cie. are listed in Geneva up until about 1765.
