A very large, heavy verge, from the Isle of Wight, with local watch papers. In exceptional condition.
MOVEMENT : Signed and numbered (2008) gilt brass verge movement, with four round pillars and beautifully engraved and pierced balance cock. Very good original condition, with the gilding still bright. Complete and running well.
DIAL : Cream enamel dial, in perfect condition.
INNER CASE : Silver, hallmarked for London, 1832, maker BN. Excellent condition throughout. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.
OUTER CASE : Silver, hallmarked as the inner. Excellent condition throughout except for the catch button which has worn away, although the catch spring is still there and the case snaps shut nicely.
The case contains 3 old watch papers from Newport, IOW.
