MOVEMENT : Signed (LOUIS RIVAL, LONDON) and numbered (175). Gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars, large silver regulator disc and beautifully engraved and pierced balance cock and plate. In complete and good condition. Both watch and calendar function are running well.

DIAL : 42.8 mm. Signed silver champleve dial, with calendar aperture. In very good condition. 18th century steel beetle hour hand but a later steel minute hand.

INNER CASE : 47.3 mm. No hallmarks but maker’s marks SR (under a crown) and ’63’. In good condition though the movement hinge has one sleeve broken (the movement is still held firmly in the case). The pendant has been reattached. The bow is later. The high dome crystal is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely.

OUTER CASE : 55 mm. Again no hallmarks but matching maker’s marks to the inner (rubbed). In good condition throughout with just some small dents on the back. The hinge, catch and catch button are all fine and the case closes nicely.
