A good verge in fine condition, in a very heavy silver pair case.
MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Blued screws. Fully signed, numbered (984) and, unusually, also dated (1820) Good condition and running well.
DIAL : 45 mm. White enamel dial, in virtually mint condition.
INNER CASE : 50 mm, silver, hallmarked for London, 1820, maker’s mark SB. The hinge is fine and the case closes nicely. Good high dome crystal with no damage. A heavy case in excellent condition throughout.
OUTER CASE : 56.50 mm, silver, hallmarks matching the inner. The hinge and catch are fine, and the catch button consists of a black polished hardstone. Again a very heavy case in fine condition.
