MOVEMENT : Fine gilt verge movement, with beautifully engraved and pierced balance cock and plate. Signed “Fra. Barinette (could be Baunette), London” and numbered (8052). Good original condition and running well.

DIAL : 32.50 mm. White enamel dial, in reasonable condition with a hairline at 1 and repairs on the edge at 2, 6 and 8. This is a later dial, probably from about 1780. Good 18thc gold beetle and poker hands.

INNER CASE : 37.4 mm. London hallmarks for 22ct gold, 1756. Maker’s mark RD. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut but the bow is a replacement. Good high dome crystal with no damage. Good condition throughout with just a couple of light dents around the sides.

Note that the thumbnail catch has worn down do the movement needs to be carefully released using a pin.

OUTER CASE : 43.3 mm. 22ct gold with no hallmarks. The hinge is fine, though possibly with an old repair only visible from the inside. The catch button is worn though the catch itself is complete and the case snaps shut. Wear to the high points, with two small holes but no repairs.

The total weight of the gold cases (with crystal) is 35.8 gms.
