MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with engraved and pierced double foot balance cock. Lace edging to the balance cock (typical of 1750/60). Signed “Stoakes, London” and numbered (16603). Fine original condition and running well.

DIAL : 35 mm. Nice white enamel dial, in very good condition with just slight fading down the right hand side, a short scratch to the hole and a short light hairline on the edge at 5.

INNER CASE : 40 mm. 22 carat gold. Hallmarked for London, maker JC but the year mark worn. The hinge is fine and the case closes nicely. Good high dome crystal with no damage. Excellent condition throughout.

OUTER CASE : 46 mm. 22 carat gold. No hallmarks, which is common for a repousse case of this date. The hinge and catch are fine. Wear to the high points, with some small pin holes but no repairs.
The total weight of the watch (excluding 3rd case) is 80 gms.

THIRD CASE : 52.75 mm. Gilt brass and shagreen. Makers mark PG. Nice original condition with no repairs and good green colour. Wear to the bezel with a shagreen section missing (1 cm). The shagreen on the back is complete though about half of the pins are missing. The spring of the catch is a replacement. The hinge is fine and the case closes.
