Vaucher Freres
Geneva, c1810
Silver case
Verge alarm movement

Sold

MOVEMENT : The verge movement is signed and numbered (1272). In good condition, with the gilding still bright, though a few scratches (the worst running from the centre to the signature). It is running well and the alarm function is working perfectly. The alarm is wound and set from the front and a hammer strikes the bell which is set into the back of the case.

DIAL : The large, signed, white enamel dial is about 49 mm in diameter. It has a chip along the edge at 7 but otherwise fine. No repairs.
Nice matching gold coloured Breguet style hands and three winding squares (alarm setting, alarm winding, watch winding).

CASE : 55 mm diameter. The good quality, heavy gauge, consular case has ribbed decoration around the band and a plain back. Both hinges and catches are fine. The bezel, stem, bow and back are all fine but there are a few small dents to the ribbed band.
Vaucher Freres are listed in Geneva between 1780 and 1830.
