A beautifully painted case, with “The Sailor’s Farewell” and seaweed borders.

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge fusee movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock. Signed and numbered (14496). It runs well to within a minute per hour.

DIAL : White enamel, 36 mm in diameter. It is in perfect condition except for some very light surface scratches and a tiny chip on the edge at 12.

INNER CASE : Gilt/brass, 41.6 mm in diameter. Quite good condition though wear to the gilding and the pendant has been reattached, with a lot of silver solder showing in the inside. The bezel snaps shut though one sleeve of the hinge is missing. Good high dome bull’s eye crystal with no damage.

OUTER CASE : Underpainted horn and gilt/brass, 48.25 mm in diameter. A very nicely painted case in good unrestored condition. Three small pieces of horn missing from the bezel but none missing from the back. A few pins missing and the catch button worn.
