Cylinder movement
Sold
MOVEMENT : Excellent quality late 18th century English cylinder movement in very good, clean condition. Beautifully engraved and pierced balance cock with diamond endstone and blued screws. It is signed and numbered (1122) and is running well. The movement is protected by a removable dustcap, also fully signed and with the same serial number.
DIAL : The large wonderful white enamel dial is about 43.75 mm in diameter. It is in exceptional condition with just a few very small surface scratches.
INNER CASE : Maker’s mark IN. The catch is fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The crystal is also in good condition. The bow and pendant are fine without the usual repair to the case. The case is in good condition with no dents and very little wear to the gilding. However the hinge is missing one sleeve though the case shuts perfectly.
OUTER CASE : The gilt/brass pair case is also in very good condition. The hinge and catch are fine. There are no significant knocks and very little wear to the gilding. This is a large watch, the case having a diameter of 58.35 mm.
