A gold and enamel, mid 18thc. Paris verge.

MOVEMENT : Gilded movement with verge escapement, the balance bridge finely engraved and pierced with scrolls. Large silver regulator disk and four round baluster pillars.

Signed Lepine A PARIS.

The movement is in good original condition, and is running well.

DIAL : White enamel dial, signed as the movement, and with crystal set half hour markers.

In good overall condition, but with a chip around the winding aperture and some small hairlines on the edge at 11 and 7. No repairs.

Nice gilt fancy hands.

The case serial number (2712) is fired into the enamel on the back of the dial.

CASE : Rose gold, with the serial number (2712) stamped on the inside and gold marks to the stem and case rim.

The front bezel is set with tiny crystals (none missing) and both bezel and back are engraved. The catch button is set with a larger crystal, and the gold back embellished with an enamel portrait plaque to the centre. This is also surrounded by a crystal set border (just a couple of crystals missing from the upper bow).

The gold is in very good condition with just a couple of tiny dents. The hinges are fine and the bezel shuts though doesn’t snap shut.

The high dome crystal is in good condition, but is a little small and is fixed with adhesive.

The enamel portrait has no repairs or restoration, though a couple of light scratches.
