A large verge escapement watch, in silver pair cases, all in nice overall condition.

MOVEMENT : Gilt fusee movement, with verge escapement, engraved and pierced balance cock, diamond endstone, four round pillars, and silver regulator disk.

Signed Alexr. Haynes, LONDON and numbered 292.

The movement is protected by a removable gilt dustcap, numbered and signed as the movement.

Running well and in good condition.

DIAL : A white enamel dial.

In good condition, but with a hairline running around the edge between 3 and 5, and a couple of small flakes on the edge at 7 and 8.

Gilt hands.

INNER CASE : Silver, with hallmarks for London, 1800, maker’s mark TW.

All in very good condition. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The high dome crystal is good. The bow and stem are original.

On the back of the case there is a nicely engraved dedication :

OUTER CASE : A silver pair case, with hallmarks and maker’s mark matching the inner.

Again, the silver is in very good condition, with just a couple of tiny bruises. The hinge, catch and catch button are all fine and the case snaps shut.

The case maker is William Lindsley of Bunhill Row, London.
