This is a small and very fine case, carved from bloodstone, with solid gold band, rim, bezel, stem and bow. The band is beautifully engraved with scrolls and shells. The bloodstone bezel is set with 6 diamonds.
The case is in very good condition. The bloodstone to the back is perfect. The bloodstone band on the bezel has a couple of very short light hairlines across it.
The gold tests as 22 ct. and is in very good condition. There are no gold marks or maker’s mark.
The hinge, catch and catch button are fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The high dome bulls eye crystal is fine.
There is a small gold plate fitted to the inside of the bezel (see photo), which must have been added to secure the diamond on the outside of the bezel.
