Early 18thc.  Outer Case

Diameter 55.5 mm, inner bezel diameter 48 mm, inner depth to bezel 29.5 mm.

Gilt brass base, with black shagreen covering and gilt rims and pins. Maker’s mark PG below a crown.

Very good condition. The shagreen is complete, with just one crack to the back but no pieces missing. Excellent colour. Just three pins missing from the centre of the back.

The hinge, catch button and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.
