Pocket Watch Outer Pair Case

Diameter 50.5 mm, inner bezel diameter 40 mm, inner depth to bezel 18 mm.

Gilt brass base, shell/horn covering and gilt rims and pins. The covering may be marine shell but more likely it is underpainted horn painted to mimic shell.

The covering is complete and in very good condition. Good colour, and just a few surface scratches.

The gilding to the metal work is almost complete with just some rubbing to the outer edges, and the brass pins are almost all present with just 5 missing from the bezel and also 5 from the back.

The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.
