MOVEMENT : Signed Jno. Fladgate and numbered 3457.

Quarter repeating with 2 steel hammers.

The movement is protected by a removable gilt dustcap, signed and numbered as the movement.

MOVEMENT CONDITION : The watch movement runs face up but stops face down. The repeating movement strikes correctly but very sluggish. The last wheel in the repeating train (speed regulator) is broken but present.

The dustcap is missing the ‘C’ clip which locks onto the bayonet studs.

The movement is dirty but in good condition (except for the broken wheel above), So needs to be stripped down and cleaned.

MOVEMENT SIZE : 5.5 mm between the plates. Top plate 34.6 mm. Dial plate 40 mm.

DIAL : Nice white enamel dial, appears to be original.
Good condition with no hairlines or repairs but a chip on the edge at 10.

Gold spade hands and complete with motion wheels.

DIAL SIZE : 41.47 mm. (dial false plate).

John Fladgate is listed in London from 1743 until his death in 1781.
