A late 18th century gilt & enamel chatelaine.

The openwork bright-cut clip and the two suspended elements, are each inset with enamel plaques. The top one is painted with a woman emblematic of autumn, the others with billing doves and a dove and bow.

Four of the suspending chains end in Albert clasps and the other two in gilt-metal tassels.

In excellent condition, with virtually no wear to the gilding and no damage to the enamel.
