Four fine tulip pillars.

Signed John Shaw, Holborn

In good condition, though with mismatched screws. Running well.

All in good condition.

Good early blued steel beetle and poker hands.

INNER CASE : A silver case, with worn maker’s mark IB?.

In reasonable condition throughout. There is the usual compression to the band, and a very worn engraving to the back. The bow and stem are later replacements.
The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine and the bezel closes correctly by snapping shut.

OUTER CASE : A silver pair case, with no maker’s mark.

In good condition. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes correctly. However the catch button has worn down though is still functional.

John Shaw is listed in Holborne after 1675. He was free of the Clockmakers’ Company in 1682 and died in about 1718.
