A mid 18thc. London verge in silver pair cases, all in particularly good condition.
MOVEMENT : A gilded verge fusee movement with engraved and pierced balance cock, showing a mythical bird to the neck and scrolls above. Blued screws and nicely engraved regulator disc.
All in good condition and running well.
Signed Jno. Roberts, London and numbered 346.
DIAL : The white enamel dial is in excellent condition with just a few very light scratches.
Nice steel beetle and poker hands.
INNER CASE : Silver with hallmarks for London, 1769 and maker’s mark MF.
In very good condition throughout. The high dome crystal has light scratches but no chips. The hinge and catch are good and the bezel closes properly.
OUTER CASE : Silver with matching hallmarks and maker’s mark to the inner.
Again in good condition throughout. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes correctly. The catch button is dented and worn, though functional
