A good quality verge watch, in a heavy silver full hunter case, by an excellent London maker.
MOVEMENT : A good quality verge escapement fusee movement, with a beautifully pierced and engraved balance cock featuring a dolphin, scrolls, a mask to the neck and a ruby endstone.
Clean blued screws and Bosley regulator.
Signed Jas, McCabe, Royal Exchange, LONDON and numbered 6633.
The movement is protected by a removable gilt dustcap,
All in good condition, and running well.
DIAL : Unsigned white enamel, with subsidiary seconds dial.
Quite good condition with a hairline from the edge at 1 towards the centre, and some damage around the winding aperture.
Gilt hands.
CASE : A large and heavy silver full hunter case with hallmarks for London, 1808, maker IR.
The front cover can be opened when the button on the stem is pressed.
Good condition. The hinges are ok and the bezel and cover snap shut correctly.
