White metal case, 59 mm.
Verge escapement, clockwatch movement, repeating, calendar dial

Sold

A substantial, Austrian verge watch, striking on the hour and half hour, with hourly repeat on demand, and calendar dial.

MOVEMENT : A gilt movement with verge escapement and pierced and engraved balance bridge. Two mainsprings, both wound through the dial, for movement and strike.

The watch movement is in good condition, and is running well. The calendar mechanism is complete and working.

The strike movement is working correctly. The hours (one strike for each hour) and half hours (single strike) are struck by a polished steel hammer on a single gong.

Under the dial at 9 (under the bezel), there is a lever to disable the strike (a little loose).

A button on the top of the stem allows the previous hours to be repeated.

DIAL : White enamel dial.

In reasonable condition, with some rubbing around the edge and signs of restoration, again around the edge, and just above the right hand winding aperture.

Fancy gilt hour and minute hands, and a blued steel calendar hand.

CASE : The plain white metal case has a little damage around the bezel and some small dents to the back. The bezel closes, but does not snap shut.

The high dome bull’s eye crystal is a replacement, with light marks and scratches.
