An interesting pair cased verge watch with ‘Doctor’s dial’ having an offset dial for the time, and a subsidiary for seconds.
MOVEMENT : Gilded verge fusee movement with engraved and pierced balance cock. Blued screws and start/start lever at 4.
All in good condition and running well. The stop lever operates correctly.
Signed Lawrenson, LIVERPOOL and numbered 5082.
DIAL : The white enamel dial has an offset dial towards the top for the time and an overlapping subsidiary dial lower down for seconds.
It is in reasonable condition though with a repaired crack across the edge at 7. There are also some light surface scratches but otherwise ok.
Gilt brass hand for the time and blued steel for the seconds.
INNER CASE : Silver with hallmarks for London, 1805 and maker’s mark JO.
The good condition throughout. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine. The hinge and catch are good and the bezel closes properly.
OUTER CASE : Silver with matching hallmarks and maker’s mark to the inner.
In very good condition throughout. The hinge, catch and button are fine and the case closes correctly.
