An early London verge, with a good champleve dial.
MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, the engraved and pierced winged balance cock with wide foot. Four Egyptian pillars, silver regulator disk and blued screws.
The balance cock table is well engraved, with a mask at the neck.
Running well, and in good condition.
Signed “J. Servaniere, London”.
DIAL : A silver champleve dial.
A little even wear but in generally good condition. Signed “SERVANIERE, LONDON” on the central disc.
Blued steel beetle and poker hands.
INNER CASE : Silver, with no maker’s mark.
In quite good condition, with a few light bruises and slight compression to the band. There is a scratch across the band from the catch. The pendant has been reattached and the bow is a later 18thc replacement. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly.
The high dome bull’s eye crystal is good, though with four small chips right on the bezel.
OUTER CASE : Silver pair case, again with no maker’s mark.
In good condition with just some very small, light bruises to the back. The catch and hinge are fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. The catch button is dented but complete.
