An excellent quality silver pocket watch, with a duplex escapement, made by the fine company of Arnold and Dent, London.

MOVEMENT : Signed and numbered (4855). Duplex escapement, with diamond endstone and ruby roller to the duplex staff.  Spilt bi metallic balance wheel, with the balance cock incorporating the regulation sector. Blued screws and four round pillars.

In very good condition throughout and running well.

DIAL : White enamel dial, signed and numbered as the movement. Subsidiary seconds.

In good condition, with no chips but some restoration around 12, where the white enamel is discoloured. Gold coloured hands.

CASE : Silver. Hallmarks for London, 1835, maker JD, and also stamped with the movement serial number (4855). Engine turning to the back with engraved crest to the centre, and milled band.

In good condition, with no dents, and just a little wear to the engine turning on the back. The crystal is fine.

John Roger Arnold and Edward John Dent are listed at The Strand, London. They went into a partnership in 1830, which continued until 1840.
