A fine quality and substantial Swiss gold quarter repeating watch, with cylinder escapement, in a rose gold case, with a particularly nice enamel dial.

MOVEMENT : A gilt movement with cylinder escapement, and gold balance wheel. Quarter repeating with two polished steel hammers striking two steel gongs.

The quarter repeating function is activated by pressing the stem, striking once for each hour and then twice for each quarter. The repeater can be disabled by the slide on the band of the case at 1.

The movement is in good condition, and is running well and repeating correctly.

DIAL : Fine white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds.

In excellent condition.

Blued steel Breguet style hands

CASE : The 18ct. gold case has engine turning to the bezel, band and back. The inner gilt cuvette is signed ‘Capt & Freundler A GENEVE’ and numbered (542).

The gold back of the case is stamped with the movement number (542) and an 18ct. gold mark.

The case is in good condition, except for a thin crack on the shoulder of the back at 7 (about 25 mm. long). There is some wear to the engine turning on the shoulder of the back and band, and some very small bruises to the band. The gold bow shows a little wear from a hanging chain.

All hinges are fine and the bezel, back cover and cuvette all close correctly. The crystal is also fine.
