An interesting skeletonised London verge, in a silver exhibition case
MOVEMENT : Fully skeletonised movement, with verge escapement, brass balance wheel and 4 round baluster pillars. Unusually, the silver regulator disk is mounted on the balance cock. 6 spokes to 2nd and 3rd wheels.
Signed (J. Buttew, HOXTON) and numbered ( 105).
Good condition throughout and running well.
DIAL : White enamel dial.
In good condition, the only damage being some flakes at the winding aperture.
Blued steel hands.
CASE : Silver, with London hallmarks for 1784, maker AM. Glass exhibition cover to the back.
In good condition, with no dents, but a few light scratches. The hinges are both fine, and the bezel and rear cover both snap shut correctly. The high dome crystal and glass to the back are both fine.
The bow is a little worn and distorted.
The case maker is probably Angela Marson, of Upper Moorfields, London (Moorfields is very close to Hoxton).
