Running well, and in particularly good condition with the gilding still bright.

Signed “Richd. Templer, London” and numbered (2751).

DIAL : A fine white enamel dial, in good condition.

No repairs, but some tiny chips around the edge, and a light hairline running from the edge at 6 towards 9.

Fine 18th century gold beetle and poker hands, in perfect condition.

INNER CASE : Gilt brass, with no maker’s mark.

In good condition. The hinge has one sleeve detached from the bezel, but the bezel does shut correctly. A little wear to the gilding on the band, and to the bow and stem.
The high dome bull’s eye crystal is fine.

OUTER CASE : Gilt pair case, with maker’s mark IN.

Again in good condition. A little wear to the gilding on the rim and centre of the back, and the catch button has worn down, but the catch itself is complete and the case does snap shut.

Richard Templer is listed in London from 1766 until his bankruptcy in 1781.
