Good Irish silver half hunter verge

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge escapement, with very finely engraved and pierced balance cock, and engraved plate. Blued screws. Four baluster pillars.

Signed and numbered (48).

The movement is in very good condition and is running well.

DIAL : Fine white enamel half hunter dial in good condition.

A couple of light hairlines from the edge at 11 and a small flake off the edge at 1

Excellent gold half hands, with markers half way up the shafts to be visible through the half hunter glass. The tip of the minute hand is missing.

CASE : Silver, with hallmarks for London, 1803, maker’s mark LR.

Very good condition throughout, with just some light bruises to the back. The hinges are fine and the bezel snaps shut.

The small crystal is scratched but appears to be original.

Orsby Irwin is listed in Dublin between 1802 and 1804 and in Ballina in 1824.
