MOVEMENT : Gilded verge escapement, with engraved and pierced balance cock, and plate. Silver regulator disk and and four square pillars.
Signed and numbered (1553).

The movement is in good original condition throughout and is running well.

DIAL : White enamel dial in good condition, with no repairs or hairlines, but a few scratches, the worst being from 2 towards the centre and from 8 towards the centre.

Nice 18thc. blued steel beetle hour hand and a later minute hand.

INNER CASE : Silver, with clear hallmarks for London, 1764, maker’s mark SP.

In very good condition throughout, though the pendant and bow are later replacements. The high dome bull’s eye crystal is also in good condition.

OUTER CASE : Silver pair case with matching hallmarks to the inner. Nicely engraved monogram on the back (RL) and a sapphire stud to the catch button (probably later).

Again in good condition throughout, with just a few small bruises to the back. The hinge, catch and catch button are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.

The case maker is probably Samuel Priest of Old Street, London.
