A Paris gold verge, with a beautiful signed gold and enamel dial, and wonderful multicoloured gold and gem set case. All in excellent condition.

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge movement. Signed (Esquivillon & Dechoudens). Excellent condition, and running well.

DIAL : A beautiful, engine turned, gold signed dial, with white enamel outer chapter ring, signature panel and cartouches. In perfect condition except for one tiny chip to the enamel chapter ring at 6 o’clock. Blued steel Breguet type hands.

CASE : Multicoloured gold case, floral casting to band and bezels, engine turned back with central star motif. Both bezels and central star are decorated with rubies and turquoise. The stem is stamped with the serial no. 7115 and a French gold mark.

A charming inscription (in Italian) on a silver plaque has been added to the inside of the back. This reads :

Pricordo di mia madre, 25 maggio ’84

(In memory of my mother, 25th May, 1884)

The case is in fine condition, The hinges are good and the bezel snaps shut with just a very slight gap. The high dome crystal is fine.
