Stock No. : 1151
Langland & Robertson
Silver pair cases
MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with particularly finely engraved and pierced balance cock and engraved plate. Signed and numbered (3052). Four round pillars. In good condition and running well.
DIAL : White enamel dial in perfect condition, but slightly too small for the dial plate, so this dial is a replacement. Nice gold skeleton hands, the minute slightly distorted.
INNER CASE : Silver hallmarks for Birmingham, 1793, maker’s mark HH. In very good condition throughout. The hinge are fine and the bezel closes well. The high dome bull’s eye crystal has a couple of small chips on the edge, almost hidden by the bezel.
OUTER CASE : Silver pair case with hallmarks for London, 1813, maker JP. So this is a replacement case, though a perfect fit to the inner. In very good throughout with some wear to the button catch and the small stud near the catch (thumb piece) is missing. The hinge and catch are fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly.
Langland & Robertson are listed in Newcastle in 1794.
