John Wilter is listed in London between 1771 and 1795 but Wilter is a name sometimes used to sign watches made on the Continent during the mid 18th century. These are usually marked ‘London’ but were probably made in Holland or Switzerland. This is almost certainly a Continental watch, made in about 1780.
