Silver repousse pair cases
Verge movement

Sold

MOVEMENT : Signed and numbered (841) gilt brass verge movement, with four round pillars, engraved and pierced balance cock, and silver regulator disc. There are a few scratches to the plate, but original, complete and running well.

DIAL : 41 mm. White enamel dial, in very good condition, with some surface scratches, a tiny flake on the edge at 1, but no hairlines, repairs or other damage. Matching gilt hands.

INNER CASE : 45.75 mm. Silver, hallmarked for London, 1793, maker ICIC. Also stamped with a serial number 178 (or it could be the movement number 841 mis struck). Very fine condition throughout. The hinge is fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The high dome crystal has a short scratch but no chips.

OUTER CASE : 54.5 mm. Heavy silver repousse, hallmarked for silver (lion passant) . Most unusual decoration. Very good condition with just a small hole on the front of the neck and a dent to the catch button. But no wear to high points of the repousse work which is in wonderful condition. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.
