Silver & shell triple cases
Verge movement

Sold

Beautiful silver and shell outer case, with fine silver pique work.

MOVEMENT : Signed and numbered (20889) gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars, engraved balance bridge and plate, and silver regulator disc. Complete and original condition, running well.

DIAL : 38 mm. White enamel dial, in good condition, with no repairs but a small chip at the centre and a few around the outside edge. Fancy gilt hands.

INNER CASE : 42.50 mm. Silver, hallmarked for London, 1793, maker TG?, and the movement serial number (20889). Good condition throughout, though the pendant has been reattached. The bow is probably a replacement. The high dome crystal is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely.

MIDDLE CASE : 50.5 mm. Silver repousse. Good condition with just slight wear to high points of the repousse work, resulting in three small pin holes. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The catch button has been worn down.

OUTER CASE : 56.5 mm. Silver & shell on a brass base. Wonderful condition with no repairs. No shell missing. One crack on the bezel and two short cracks on the base. Just two silver pins missing from the back and five from the bezel. Excellent colour.
