MOVEMENT : Gilt verge movement, with beautifully engraved and pierced double foot balance cock. Interesting portrait balance cock (Father Time with scythes ?). Signed and numbered (625). All in good original condition and running well.

DIAL : 36.25 mm. Signed white enamel. Excellent condition with just tiny chips on the edge at 1 and a little wear to the painted numerals on the edge at 5. Original 18th century steel beetle and poker hands.

INNER CASE : 40.5 mm. London hallmarks for 22ct gold, 1783, maker’s mark RP. There are a few light bruises and one small dent on the back and the pendant has been reattached, leaving some roughness on the shoulders around the stem, but in overall good condition. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly. Good high dome bull’s eye crystal with a little wear but no chips or cracks.

OUTER CASE : 46.5 mm. An exceptionally fine repousse case with wonderfully pierced detail. 22ct gold with no hallmarks. The catch, button and hinge are good and the case snaps shut nicely. In wonderful condition with no wear to the repousse work.

The total weight of the gold cases (without crystal) is just over 42 gms.
