Gilt & leather pair cases
Verge movement

Sold

MOVEMENT : Gilded verge movement, signed and numbered (1104). Pierced and engraved balance cock. Nice clean condition but not running. The movement is complete (including chain) and the balance staff and hairspring are fine. The balance does swing but obviously needs some adjustment or work.

DIAL : 37 mm. The white enamel dial is virtually perfect with just a few very light surface scratches.

INNER CASE : 42 mm. Gilt on brass. Some of the gilding has worn off the outside and the pendant/bow though still complete on the inside. The hinge is fine and the case closes nicely. High dome bull’s eye crystal in good condition.

OUTER CASE : 52.25 mm. Brass gilt, with leather covering. The case is in original condition with no restoration. The leather on the back has two small pieces missing, one near the hinge and one at the catch. All of the pins are present. The leather on the bezel has a few pieces missing, mostly near the catch. Just a few pins missing. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes nicely, though the catch button is missing.
Inside this case is a nice old watchpaper from Smith & Son, Newbury & Reading.
