MOVEMENT : Fully signed and numbered (1834). High quality, gilded verge movement with beautifully engraved and pierced balance cock with large diamond endstone. In excellent, clean, original condition and running well. Complete with original signed and numbered removable dust cap.
DIAL : 42.25 mm. White enamel dial, in reasonable condition, with some rubbing to the numbers and a chip on the edge at 12. This is a later dial, contemporary with the case.
CASE : 49 mm. Later silver case, fully hallmarked for London, 1851, maker RF. Reasonable condition, with some light bruises to the back and a small scratch on the high dome bull’s eye crystal. The hinges are good and the case snaps shut nicely, though the covers are not a tight fit. The case is a good fit for this excellent movement.
Samuel and Robert Atkins are listed in London in 1767.
